Introduction

This collection of striking acrylic paintings brings together scenes of the Gilded Age, a turbulent era in New York City history that fascinated Paul, and memories of his early years from childhood through college, a time of grace and simplicity he felt had all but disappeared. They reflect the profound forces of progress and memory that inspired Paul's art and his view of our world.
